Four Soldiers killed by Boko Haram in deadly attack at Yobe Army Base

Suspected Boko Haram fighters launched a deadly attack on the 27 Task Force Army Brigade in Buni Yadi. The assault happened early Saturday morning in Gujba, Yobe State. At least four Nigerian soldiers were killed. The terrorists destroyed key military equipment during the raid.

The attack came less than 24 hours after a major security meeting in Damaturu. North East governors had gathered to discuss strategies against insurgents. Buni Yadi, located 65 kilometers from Damaturu, is Governor Mai Mala Buni’s hometown. It now lies scarred by violence and destruction.

A security source who escaped the scene shared chilling details with reporters. He said the terrorists struck around 2:00 a.m. from the western side.

They overpowered troops, looted the brigade’s armory, and set fire to several military vehicles.

They took what they could and torched the rest,” the source said.

He confirmed the destruction of five MRAPs, anti-aircraft carriers, and over 20 Hilux trucks. Even heavy artillery wasn’t spared.

Another surviving soldier confirmed the attackers came in overwhelming numbers.

They fired explosives and bullets everywhere,” he said.

Though troops fought back, they were eventually overpowered.

Our weapons were no match for their firepower,” he admitted.

He revealed that the four slain soldiers were beheaded by the terrorists.

They didn’t just kill them—they beheaded them,” he said in horror.

The military has not released names of the fallen soldiers. Security forces are expected to launch a counter-offensive in the region.
